Our class members

Class AT, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Dance and Mrs Raffell warmly welcome you to our website page.

Topics

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD is our topic for the second part of the Spring Term. We will be looking at fruits and vegetables in particular.

Try 'The Great Grub Club' website for games, growing activiites, quizzes and colouring sheets.

SUPERHEROES was our topic for the first half of the Spring Term.

Spot the superheroes!

The children were involved in many tasks on our Superheroes' Challenge Day.

During the topic the children also had their own superhero name and designed a shirt for themselves..

As part of Storytelling Week, Class AS came to read stories to us. It was a really enjoyable time.

STEPPING BACK IN TIME This was the topic for the first half of the Autumn Term 2009. In our fairytale palace role play area, we acted out some well known stories. We constructed carriages and castles. There was a lot to prepare for our 'Party at the Palace'. We wrote to Her Majesty the Queen for advice about party food and we received a letter from Buckingham Palace! The Queen's lady-in waiting has replied to us on the Queen's behalf.

'Her Majesty was interested to hear that you have been learning about Kings, Queens and castles, and thought it kind of you to invite her to your special tea party.'

' The Queen was pleased to see your letter and sends her good wishes to you all.'

'LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION' This was our topic for the second half of the Autumn Term. The Dark Den was a popular destination for investigating light.

Class News

The Outdoor Area has been officially opened. Sheena Wright, Lead Early Years Advisor for Devon, joined us to cut the ribbon and celebrate the occasion. The children are going to really benefit from having this extension to their learning environment.

The opening ceremony

The children have been painting tyres to use as plant containers and carrying out gardening jobs.

The class got to know the story The Enormous Crocodile for our Book Week. Everyone dressed up as a Roald Dahl character for a parade in the hall at the end of the week. Many thanks to the parents for helping with the costumes.

At Christmas the children in Key Stage One performed 'The Advent Calendar', at St Luke's Church. Class AT received much praise for reciting their poem about elves.

Entertaining elves!

The children made very special Christmas gifts. We hope they were enjoyed.

Happy Christmas
