Welcome to Class GH!

Class GH is full of superheroes!

Food Glorious Food

Our topic for this half term is 'Food Glorious Food', with a focus on healthy eating. Last week we predicted what some exotic fruit would look like inside, and this week we got to taste it. Our favourite fruit was definitely mango.

Forest School

Each week we visit our Forest School to explore and take part in many different and exciting activities. All children need to wear is wellies, trousers and a long sleeved top so they can take part in all the activities. We often get very messy!

This week in Forest School we have made a giant fruit bowl. See if you can work out from the pictures all the different fruits we have in our bowl!

Superohero Challenge Day!

Class GH and AT was full of superheroes on the 11th February. Everyone dressed up as a superhero and had to complete many tricky challenges.
How many people could they rescue in a minute? How many things could they hold in their hands? Could they blow a letter in some lentills? How many phonemes could they recognise and say in a minute?
These are just some of challenges they faced!
Well done everyone, you were all fantastic superheroes!

As part of Story Telling Week Class GH mixed up with Class CW to read stories to each other. Class CW even read some stories to us that they had written. Here are some of us enjoying the stories in our class.

Our topic last half term...

Last half term our topic is all about 'Superheroes' Everything in Class GH is about Superheroes at the moment, even our table names are Superhero names. Here is some of the work we have been up to.....

Some children have made a 'marine boat' for a superhero using the lego during their choosing time.

Gymnastics Festival

We were lucky this week to be invited to a gymnastics festival at Sidmouth College where we enjoyed lots of different activities. Here are some of us in action.

The learning Journey

An essential part of the learning journey is being able to read and spell. It is therefore so important that all the children in year 1 read and practise their spellings daily. We will change their books once they’ve been read, and they will get tested on their spellings on a Tuesday.

P.E

The children need to have their PE kits in school at all times as they may need it a couple of times a week.
