Jonny and Sam have written a report about the football matches.
On Monday 18th January a Year 6 tag rugby team played friendly 5-a-side rugby against St. Nicholas Junior and Sidbury Primary. We started off with a bang as Jacob scored five tries in the first game against Sidbury, to win 6-4, after great support play by Jonny and Ashley. In the second game, a determined St. Nicks won 6-3 despite strong running by Ashley, Freya and Sam. The third game, against Sidbury, was won 5-4, after Chloe T scored a last minute try. In the last game, it was much closer, thanks to good support play by Kimmy and Sam, but St. Nick's again won 5-3, leaving us in second place.
Well done to the whole team who enjoyed the chance to play competitive Tag rugby.
The Year 5 / 6 Athletics team went to Kings School for the East Devon Partnership Finals and managed to finish 5th out of 8 schools. After having to change some members of the team at the last minute, due to illness, the team did their very best.
The schools represented were Clyst Hydon, Stockland, Sidbury, Kentisbeare, All Saints Primary, Musbury, the Exmouth cluster winners and Newton Poppleford.
Well done to the team - Finlay, Chloe P, Freya, Jonny, Danny, Callum, Libby, Sophie, Ellis, Jamie, Sam and Reuben.
Year 5 / 6 Athletics team win through to local finals
The Year 5 / 6 Athletics team did fantastically well to win a competition involving three other local schools. They took part in longer and shorter sprints, team sprint relay, chest push (throwing a ball as far as possible), long jump and speed bounce. Finishing first, they now go on to represent the Sidmouth schools cluster at the East Devon Partnership finals. Very well done to Sam, Jamie, Reuben, Libby, Ellis, Sophie, Jacob, Finlay, Jonny, Kimmy, Chloe and Freya.
