4th May 2016

On Wednesday 4th May, we have organised for Gary Gates to talk to our year 5 and 6 children about online safety.

We have also organised sessions for parents and these will be in the school hall at 2:15pm and 6pm

Our guest has many years of experience in training and educating all age groups in the subject of Internet safety. He is an ambassador for the CEOP (child exploitation and online protection) command of the National Crime Agency. He will also be delivering an educational input to pupils too. He will share his knowledge, experience and some top tips with you, not only to keep you children safer, but also advice on how to protect yourself and your own on line social reputation.

Part of the session will include answers to the following.
....do you know how to see who is viewing your Facebook profile?
....what are the hidden catches with snapchat?
....what are your children viewing?
....how do you open discussion with your children about Internet use and on line gaming?
....googlestalking?
and more.

These sessions are open to all parents, from any age group, and will last for about an hour.

Please could you email school admin@newton-poppleford.devon.sch.uk, call or visit the school office to let us know if you will be attending, so that we have an idea of numbers.
