Uniform

School Uniform

Please encourage your child to wear School Uniform all the year round.  We would be grateful if you could name clearly all items of clothing.

We expect children to have named PE kit in School every day.  It is usual for no footwear to be worn for PE and games in the hall, unless children have foot complaints of any kind.  Items of uniform are listed below:

Clothing
Winter/General
Royal blue jumper / sweatshirt / cardigan
White shirt / White blouse
Grey trousers / Grey skirt
Grey socks / White socks

Footwear should be appropriate for School use. Shoes or boots in dark colours may be worn, but not trainers. Raised heels are not appropriate for safety reasons.

Summer

White shirt / Blue and white check or stripe pattern dress

Grey shorts
PE Wear
White T-shirts
Dark coloured shorts
(leggings are acceptable when worn underneath shorts)
Dark coloured jogging bottoms may be worn in cold weather.
Trainers

No nail varnish and no make-up. Any hair accessories should be discreet and in school colours only. Hair longer than collar length must be tied back. Hair should be kept clean and tidy and should not be brightly coloured, worn in any extreme style or have an appearance inconsistent, in the Headteacher’s opinion, with traditional good standards of uniform.

Embroidered uniform can be purchase through My Clothing or from Thomas Moore of Exeter. The School Logo badge can be bought from the School Office for £1.50.

Art Aprons

All children need aprons to protect their clothes while they are involved in art activities.  An old shirt with elastic in the cuffs, or the sleeves cut down, is ideal for this purpose.

Jewellery

In the interest of health and safety, please ensure that your children do not wear jewellery of any kind to School. If ear studs or sleepers have to be worn, this should be restricted to one per ear lobe.

Lost Property

The amount of unclaimed property left at School each year is staggering.  Please ensure that every item of clothing is clearly labelled and report losses immediately.  All other items should be marked - bags, watches, pencil cases, Wellington boots, shoes, art aprons, PE clothing, etc.  There is a new labelled Lost Property Box beside the shed in the School Playground.  Please note that this bin has to be emptied regularly and that unclaimed items may be discarded.
