The PTFA
About the PTFA
The principal role of the PTFA (Parents, Teachers, Friends Association) at Newton Poppleford Primary School is to support the school and its children, particularly through fund-raising activities, allowing the funding of school trips, classroom resources, and educational experiences. All parents, carers, staff and governors from the school are automatically members, and other friends of the school can become members.
The PTFA is registered as a charity under the name “Newton Poppleford School Association” with charity number #1015155. The PTFA is run by a committee who are elected each year by PTFA members at the Annual General Meeting. Regular PTFA meetings are held throughout the year and all members are invited to attend. The PTFA always welcomes suggestions for future activities and events and any significant expenditure must be voted on by the parents and teachers present at a PTFA meeting.
The PTFA follows a model constitution provided by PTA-UK.
Meetings
We have been continuing our ongoing WhatsApp virtual meeting, which has proven very effective, and is ongoing. But we are looking forward to face to face meetings and events again this year! The details of meetings will be communicated through School Matters, the parents Facebook group, and the PTFA WhatsApp meeting. Anyone who wishes to join the WhatsApp group should contact the Chair (Teri) on 07909 798441.

2018/19/20 Outside Spaces Campaign
This year the PTFA are fundraising to improve our school's Outside Spaces, and our plans include creating a Wildflower Meadow, Sensory Garden, and Fitness Trail. This project will be ongoing as we landscape our new school grounds over the next few years.
We remain committed to providing classroom resources, school trips, and other enhancements to our children’s learning experience alongside this wider campaign.
My Name Tags
For every order of personalised labels for children's clothing and equipment, My Nametags.com will contribute 20% to the school. The more orders My Nametags receives the more it will donate. Please help us to return lost clothing and support the school's fundraising efforts by placing an order for labels with My Nametags. Every order placed when clicking on this link will be counted in the fundraising total for our school.
