Volunteering in School

Volunteer Helpers

We like to encourage parents to become fully involved in the work of the School, and to do so, operate a scheme of Volunteer Helpers.  You are invited to join this scheme.  Volunteer Helpers come into School for a morning or an afternoon each week to help with class-related work.  This might entail hearing selected children read, cutting paper, sharpening pencils, mixing paint, preparing displays, helping with cooking or sewing groups, tidying areas, checking projects, mounting children's work, preparing/labelling exercise books, photocopying resources, laminating and so on.

This scheme gives parents the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of life in a busy School and helps you to understand our problems and endeavours with the children.  The teachers and the children welcome your assistance, which helps to improve the educational service we are able to offer.  We hope you will consider joining the scheme.

All volunteer helpers will be asked to complete a volunteer’s application form and have an enhanced DBS check to be carried out to ensure the safety of the children.
